As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you close the gap between a powerful platform and measurable results on the factory floor. You work directly with customers, learn their processes in detail, and ship durable solutions that become part of the core product.
What You Will Do
Deploy With Customers
Work on-site with manufacturing teams to map workflows, connect systems, and move quickly from discovery to a working production deployment.
Build End-to-End
Create integrations, backend services, agent tools, evaluations, and focused interfaces using Python, FastAPI, TypeScript, and React.
Turn Repetition Into Product
Recognize patterns across deployments and work with product engineering to convert one-off solutions into reusable platform capabilities.
Own the Outcome
Define success with the customer, measure it in production, and stay with the problem until the workflow is reliable and adopted.
Who You Are
- Product-minded engineer: you can move across APIs, data models, integrations, and frontend details to solve the whole problem.
- Strong with customers: you listen carefully, communicate clearly, and can turn ambiguous operational pain into an executable plan.
- Fast and resourceful: you make sound trade-offs, ship in short loops, and improve the system after learning from reality.
- Comfortable in the field: you are based near Freiburg or willing to relocate, and excited to spend meaningful time at customer sites.
- AI-native: you use modern coding and LLM tools fluently and care about evaluation, observability, and safe agent behavior.
